Organic Instruments Elemental Suite Studio Player DIY sample-based virtual instrument platform

Organic Instruments have announced the launch of Elemental Suite, a new software platform that allows users to create their own sample-based virtual instruments. The package consists of Elemental Studio, which makes it possible to design, build and publish instruments, and Elemental Player, a free plug-in which hosts the results.

Elemental Studio

Elemental Studio is an intuitive application which has been designed specifically for creating sample-based instruments without the need for extensive coding experience. Each instrument can contain multiple soundsets, with an unlimited number of samples filtered by categories such as Note Range, Velocity and Round Robins. It is possible to create even the most detailed and sophisticated instruments thanks to advanced techniques such as support for additional samples for key or pedal depressions and releases are supported, and there is also the ability to automatically transpose audio files across a range of keys.

Elemental Studio also features a real time preview function, and as it can be run as a plug-in itself, users are able to instantly test their creations in a DAW whilst building. Those wishing to produce commercial instruments benefit from support for custom branding and colour schemes, with optional tools for encrypting the audio files used to create the instrument. The ability to require licenses to play are also built into the software.

Elemental Player

Elemental Player then provides a dedicated plug-in for hosting the instruments created with Elemental Studio, offering an intuitive set of controls that allow users to easily navigate through their instrument library and load them into their chosen DAW. Instruments benefit from a built-in reverb, ASDR envelope and dynamic controls, along with customisable MIDI routing options and a transpose function.

"We know that many musicians, producers and composers have been waiting for a way to produce their own instrument plug-ins with a streamlined approach. As we release Elemental Studio & Elemental Player, we're truly excited about sharing a new way for customers to create VST3, AU, AAX and standalone instrument plug-ins. Publishers no longer need years of coding experience, a team of developers and considerable time and expense to realise their creative potential. Whether it's creating the next best virtual piano, or designing unconventional and innovative sample libraries, it’s an incredible time to share as we enable everyone to take advantage of the best new tools for virtual instrument production." - Jonathan Vardouniotis, founder and developer of Organic Instruments
