Auralex Acoustics have announced the launch of a series of new kits that provide users with everything they need to build their own acoustic panels. Available in three versions: Frame, Frame and Fabric, and Panel, each of the kits provide a selection of pre-cut components and fixings, allowing keen DIYers to put together some neat and functional room treatment at an affordable price.
The DIY Frame kit contains everything needed to build a single frame designed to hold a 2-foot x 4-foot mineral fibre panel up to a 4-inch depth, and is intended for customers who wish to source their own covering fabric and filling material. Each side of the frame features a vent design which has been optimised to provide the maximum amount of absorption possible without sacrificing the structural integrity of the panel. Fixtures and fittings are provided for constructing the frame itself, and mounting hardware for attaching the resulting panel to a plasterboard wall are also included. A DIY Frame and Fabric option then adds a pre-cut length of acoustically transparent finishing material, which is available in Black, Grey, and Steel Grey finishes.
Those looking for an all-in-one treatment option have a choice of two DIY Panel Kits, each of which contain everything needed to build six panels in either 2-inch (DIY Panel Kit 6-2) or 4-inch (DIY Panel Kit 6-4) depths. Six Frame and Fabric kits are included, along with six pieces of mineral fibre that will fit perfectly inside of each frame. The same choice of fabric finish options are available, and once again, all fixing and mounting hardware is also provided.
