Penteo Audio Plugins have announced the launch of the latest version of their award-winning upmixing and downmixing plug-in. Penteo 6 delivers some significant enhancements including support for 14 new formats and an array of user interface improvements.
The company say that the latest version of Penteo reinforces its position as the leading upmix/downmix plug-in for audio professionals who need to reversion their mixes. A huge range of formats are supported including surround, Dolby Atmos, Auro3D, DTSX, Sony 360RA, Ambisonics, Binaural and Dolby Pro Logic. The plug-in has been designed specifically to streamline the complex process of upmixing and downmixing, and ensure that mixes maintain the best possible fidelity and spatial accuracy following the reversioning process.

The headline features of the latest version include:
- The introduction of 10 new sound-shaping modes and five Universal Music Group presets
- Two-, three- and four-channel UHJ support along with fourth-, fifth-, sixth- and seventh-order AmbiX Ambisonics
- A Direct Binaural Renderer capable of coverting any of 62 formats to high-quality binaural files
- Support for Octophonic eight-channel Cube, hybrid Sony 360RA 16.0 and Atmos 7.0.7, along with non-LFE 9.0.6 and 7.0.6 formats designed for advanced gaming/VR/XR audio creation
- Reversioning of legacy formats thanks to LtRt, LCRS, LCRS + LFE and 2.1 stereo support
- An improved GUI equipped with two-level input/output format drop-down menus, multi-link faders and peak indicators

Compatibility
Penteo 6 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 and above, and Macs running macOS 10.9 or higher. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Penteo 6 is available now, and is a free upgrade for existing users. New licenses are priced as follows:
- Penteo 360: $299 - 5.1 upmixer/downmixer for 13 audio formats including second-order Ambisonics
- Penteo Pro: $499 - 16 channel upmixer/downmixer for 43 formats including Atmos & Immersive
- Penteo Pro+: $799 - 64 channel upmixer/downmixer with 62 audio formats including seventh-order Ambisonics and direct Binaural rendering
