2008 Sound Recording Technology show

The UK's biggest music recording show!
Sound On Sound, the UK's biggest-selling recording and music technology magazine, has announced that is to be the headline sponsor of the Sound Recording Technology show in JUNE 2008, as part of the London International Music Show (LIMS).

Sound Recording Technology will run concurrently with the London Guitar Show, Drummer Live and 'Unplugged' -- a new show, incorporating traditional instruments and sheet music -- from 12th JUNE to 15th JUNE, 2008 at ExCel in London's Docklands. The combined show will feature a trade day, effectively replacing the British Music Fair, followed by three public days.

Sound Recording Technology 2008 is certain to become the UK's No.1 show for music technology and sound design techniques. It will be the UK showcase for the latest products straight out of Frankfurt and NAMM, and will be packed with seminars, clinics and expert demonstrations to create the ultimate hi-tech mix. SRT08 will also feature a series of essential workshops hosted by Sound On Sound's expert staff and contributors, guaranteed to attract all SOS readers to what promises to be a milestone event. These will be enhanced by live interviews with big names from the world of production and sound engineering, revealing tricks of the trade and fascinating personal insights, as well as wide-ranging FAQ sessions and practical recording tutorials.

"We are confident that this is the right move for the UK MI industry," stated Sound On Sound Publisher Dave Lockwood, "and we are happy to throw our full weight behind it, both in terms of our marketing and also to use the show as the platform for our extremely popular music technology seminars."

"I also welcome the fact that the new show will not be aligned with a single retailer. Although we have partnered very successfully with retailers in the past, I believe that a non-aligned show ultimately stands a much better chance of becoming the international showcase that we believe the UK musical equipment industry deserves."

The London International Music Show (LIMS) represents a logical rationalisation of the MI calendar and Sound On Sound will be playing a significant role in the shaping of Sound Recording Technology in 2008 and beyond.
