Plug-in achieves "the opposite of delay"

Raising Jake Studios Advancer time alignment shifting flanger effects plug-in

Described as “the opposite of delay”, Advancer, the latest plug-in to be released by Raising Jake Studios, uses a DAW’s latency compensation facilities to shift sounds forward in time, offering solutions for common audio issues as well as the creation of interesting effects.

Advancer is capable of applying up to 50ms of shifting, and can be used to tackle tasks such as time alignment of signals captured from microphones placed at different distances, and correcting skewed left/right channel information that is resulting in an off-centre stereo image. Additionally, the plug-in can be used to create a number of creative effects, such as creating ghost notes and flams on drum tracks, doubling effects that appear before the source sound and flanging effects.

A linear phase crossover is also present, allowing users to apply different time shifts to low- and high-frequency content, and when used on stereo material, it is possible to apply processing to only the left, right, mid or sides elements of the incoming signal.

Compatibility

Advancer is supported on PCs running Windows (no minimum OS requirement specified) and Macs running macOS 10.11 and higher. The company say that the Mac version requires Apple’s Metal graphics processing, and so encourage users to try the trial version before purchasing to ensure it is compatible with their machine. VST2, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.

Pricing & Availability

Advancer is available now, priced at $24.95.
