Berkleemusic launch in the UK

World-famous music school branches out
Berkleemusic, the on-line division of the Berklee College of Music in Boston, USA, have branched out to the UK. The launch of their British service will allow UK-based musicians to take advantage of the Berkleemusic on-line facilities, such as real-time chats, discussion boards and interactive activities.

Coinciding with the UK launch is the announcement of 50 scholarship placements that will be awarded over the next five years to UK-based musicians. Berklee have teamed up with Sir George Martin, Jeff Beck, Paul Oakenfold, Simon Napier-Bell and Steve Vai, who will act as patrons for the scholarships, which are worth £45,000 in total. Applications for the scholarships are being taken now, with the deadline of the 27th July 2009.

The autumn term will start on the 29th September.
