Jocavi have announced a new prefabricated modular room system that incorporate their renowned acoustic treatment solutions and offer a significant amount of isolation. Revealed at this year’s AES show, Soundspace Pro aims to provide a cost-effective approach to quickly constructing temporary or permanent recording or listening spaces.
The system’s wall and ceilings are constructed from a combination of PVC and GRP (Glass Reinforced Plastic), making them lightweight but highly robust. They can be assembled in a matter of hours, and can be decoupled from the outer shell using Studio Float IsoRafts to maximise isolation — depending on the specific construction, the company say that the rooms can achieve between 46 and 74dB of attenuation. Another benefit is that the rooms can be disassembled and reassembled easily, making them an ideal solution for temporary installations.
The inside of the rooms come kitted out with a range of Jocavi’s acoustic treatment products — including their CerAtmos Spherical 3D diffuser baffles, which are positioned on the ceilings — and have been designed with immersive formats such as Dolby Atmos in mind. The design is said to ensure the largest possible monitoring ‘sweet spot’, allowing them to accommodate larger audiences without having to compromise on the listening experience.
They aim to look the part, too, with users able to specify custom interior finishes that match their design visions or complement any existing themes in existing facilities.
