Line 6 launch USB audio interfaces

Toneport interfaces to ship with amp modelling software
Digital-modelling specialists Line 6 have produced a pair of USB interfaces, the Toneport UX1 and UX2, designed for desktop recording and packaged with brand-new guitar amp- and mic preamp-modelling software.

The Toneport UX1 (pictured above) provides mic and guitar/instrument inputs, stereo line inputs and outputs and a headphone output. There are mic input level and output level knobs on top of the compact unit, and there’s an additional input, which merges with the audio output, for monitoring purposes.

The UX2 (below) has quite a few additional features on top of what the UX1 offers, including two mic inputs with individual level controls and VU meters and globally-switchable phantom-power, two guitar inputs, S/PDIF output, dual footswitch inputs for controlling start/stop and punch in/out, and independent volume controls for the headphone and main outputs.

Both interfaces, which are Mac- and PC-compatible, support 16- and 24-bit recording at 44.1 and 48kHz, and they come with ASIO, WDM and Core Audio drivers.

The included Gear Box software features 16 amp models taken from the Pod XT, five from the Bass Pod XT, six mic preamp models and 24 guitar effects, up to 10 of which can be used simultaneously. A special version of Ableton Live Lite is also included.

The two interfaces are priced competitively — Toneport UX1 costs £102 while the UX2 costs £159.
