Stories In Sound at Abbey Road Studios

Live event: 2 – 4 August 2024

Abbey Road Studios Stories In Sound immersive live music recording studio event

Taking place at Abbey Road Studios from 2 – 4 August 2024, Stories In Sound is a new immersive experience that combines rich storytelling with live music, giving fans the opportunity to hear the story behind the legendary facility alongside live performances of some of the music created within its walls.

From the patenting of stereo to the invention of numerous recording techniques used around the world today, Stories In Sound will be led by Kevin Ryan and Brian Kehew — producers, musicians and authors of Recording The Beatles, a book that details the equipment and techniques used to create the iconic group’s classic albums. During their research, Kevin and Brian dug deep into the EMI Archives, uncovering fascinating (and often hidden) stories of the studio’s history which will be brought to life through their talks.

The event will take place in Studio Two, a room which has seen countless landmark recordings by artists such as The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Shirley Bassey, The Hollies, Elton John, Ella Fitzgerald, Kate Bush, Massive Attack, Oasis, Radiohead, Muse, Adele, Celeste, Stormzy, Ed Sheeran and many more.

Along with the in-person event, Abbey Road Studios will be creating a live stream event that will be available on 10 August 2024, which will include some behind-the-scenes content that will not be available at the live event.
