Two notes update Genome

Modelling package gains new amps & effects

Two notes Genome amp cabinet effects modelling software spring reverb wah effects pedals

Two notes Audio Engineering have announced the launch of Genome v1.2, an update that adds five new components to their recently released amp modelling software package. It introduces a mixture of premium and free Component add-ons, and the paid-for content can be tried out for free in either trial or licensed versions of Genome.

The first new premium additions to the line-up are TetraVerb and Spring ’63, a pair of spring reverb effects (Studio and Pedal models, respectively) which Two notes say are inspired by the likes of Fender’s ’63 Tube Reverb and Roland’s RE-201. A NIFTY65 amp model then delivers high-gain tones aimed squarely at metal and hard rock, while INDY covers a range of more polite tones from slightly saturated cleans through to edge-of-breakup sounds. The fifth and final offering falls into the Pedal category, offering the company’s take on Jim Dunlop’s Cry Baby. Named WahBaby, the effect is free for all users with a Genome license.

SOS Review

You can check out our review of Genome in the April 2024 issue of SOS (print / web / app / replica / PDF editions).

“GENOME v1.2 heralds a new era for our carrier-class software ecosystem. With our latest update, we’re set to empower players of all walks with the choice to define their own custom backline — all in addition to GENOME’s mighty stock component arsenal. At launch, we were inundated with requests for more amp models and reverb units — two months into our roadmap, we deliver on this. My advice: grab the latest update and take our premium components for a spin, absolutely free! If you’re new to GENOME, start your free 14-day trial today and give everything the ecosystem has to offer a try. If you’re dead set on building your dream backline, GENOME is your first, and final destination!” - Guillaume Pille, CEO Two notes Audio Engineering
