Repetito 3: Multi-channel live loop software

Up to eight audio inputs and 16 loop tracks

Repetito 3 live performance looper software

Created by independent developer Mathieu Pavageau, Repetito 3 is a multi-channel looper software application aimed primarily at live performance. It can be used alongside any MIDI controller, boasts flexible routing and built-in audio manipulation tools, and also offers some convenient recording and backup functions.

There are four looper modes on offer: Predefined Durations, Free Loops, Free Loops + Metronome and Free Loops + Varispeed. The last of the four utilises a feature introduced with the latest version, which allows users to control the playback speed of individual channels, or all recorded loops simultaneously — it can also be used to change the playback direction, enabling reverse effects.

Each session supports up to eight mono or stereo input channels, along with 16 loop channels and eight mix bus channels, and will host both effects processors and virtual instrument plug-ins in either VST3 or AU formats. As well as recording directly into its loop tracks, Repetito 3 also allows users to import pre-recorded audio files, and a Performance Record mode makes it possible to capture a multitrack recording of each of the software’s active channels, including any loaded instruments or processors. Helpfully, all of the software’s key features can be controlled via MIDI, with an intuitive learn feature making quick work of mapping out custom controller layouts, and all plug-in parameters can be automated.

Repetito 3 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 and above, and Macs running macOS 10.12.6 or higher (both Intel and Apple Silicon builds are available).
