Ueberschall tend to design their products so that they serve a very specific genre of music. Looptool is rather different, in that it covers all genres by sampling the content of a huge number of Ueberschall libraries.

Ueberschall have just released a new sample library, entitled Soulful Pop. Comprising over 3.8GB of audio, Soulful Pop is a collection of construction kits spanning tempi between 59 and 100bpm. All the usual pop-music instruments are there (such as drums, basses, electric and acoustic guitars), as well as strings, organs, synth pads, flutes and electric pianos. All told, there are more than 1130 loops oriented around 18 different songs, with each song being split into five sub-sections: Intro, Main Kit, Variation Kit, Variation Kit 2 and Outro.
