At the beginning of this year, Aston released a limited Black edition of their remarkably popular Origin microphone. The Black Origin — identical to the original cardioid mic, but for its black-textured finish — was no less a hit, with the entire run of 2000 mics selling out in less than a week!
Now the British mic company are giving their flagship multi-pattern Spirit the same treatment, and it's available exclusively as part of their Black Spirit Bundle, which comprises a black-finished Spirit microphone, plus their SwiftShield combination of pop filter and shockmount. The shockmount component has two quick-release clips for easy mic mounting, and can accommodate mics between 40 and 60 mm in diameter (which includes, of course, the Spirit). The pop filter, meanwhile, attaches directly to the shockmount and uses a perforated metal grille to prevent plosives reaching the microphone.
