Indie software developer Fred Anton Corvest has announced the launch of his latest AUv3 plug-in. FAC Punchlab is an all-in-one processing solution that comes loaded with nine modules that offer a range of dynamic processing, EQ, saturation and modulation functions.
Modules
FAC Punchlab is equipped with the following nine modules:
- Attack: a transient designer that offers Depth and Punch controls that make it possible to emphasise or reduce the attack of a sound
- Phat: a saturation processor with five modes (three Clip options, Sine and Tape) and an automatic gain compensation function
- Boum: a resonant filter equipped with a Note slider to set which pitch is emphasised, along with parameters that allow users to adjust the level and decay rate of the generated tone
- Heat: another saturation option that introduces “harmonic excitement”
- Tone: an adjustable shelf filter joined by both high- and low-pass filters
- EQ: low- and high-frequency bell filters
- Fizz: introduces audio-rate modulation with a choice of four noise types along with sine and triangle waveshapes
- Clip: a clipper section that offers a range of knee settings and a choice of three automatic gain compensation options
- Mix: a global wet/dry balance control that is joined by switchable oversampling and limiter functions
The developer says that the FAC Punchlab has been designed to offer a great user experience, with a responsive set of controls and detailed real-time metering and visual parameter feedback. The plug-in also comes loaded with a selection of factory presets aimed at a variety of use cases, as well as offering some inspiration for creating new and interesting sounds.
