n-Track Studio gains stem separation tool

Version 10.1 update now available

n-Track Studio 10.1 DAW update built-in stem separation remove vocals

n-Track have announced the first update to version 10 of their n-Track Studio DAW software. It’s free to download for existing users, and the headline feature is the introduction of AI MixSplit, a built-in tool capable of extracting stems from mixed recordings.

AI MixSplit can be accessed via a new right-click menu option, and provides users with two choices: Remove Vocals or Separate Instruments. Both work exactly as you’d expect, with the former simply ‘muting’ the vocals in the source track, and the latter dividing the mixed audio into bass, drums, vocals and other elements, which are then placed on their own tracks for further editing and remixing.

The company have also implemented some other new features including new controls for auditioning instrument presets, and importing multitrack MIDI files will now result in the software automatically assigning the correct instrument for each track. Additionally, the Beat Doctor transient detection algorithm is now available in the mobile versions of the DAW, improving their editing capabilities.

Take a look at the quick demo video below to see some of the new features in action.
