PreSonus have released Notion Mobile, a cross-platform version of their award-winning composition tool which is now available for Android, Chrome OS, Fire OS, Windows, and macOS platforms in addition to the original iOS and iPadOS versions.
Notion Mobile allows users to compose and edit in standard music notation and tablature on their mobile or desktop device, and offers realistic playback of their creations using real piano and orchestral samples recorded by the London Symphony Orchestra at Abbey Road Studios.
The app features an interactive keyboard, fretboard, and drum pad, offering a fast and convenient way to capture pitches, drum parts, and guitar fingerings, as well an integrated chord library. A score setup tool or template can be used to start a new project, or existing work can be loaded in via a Notion, MIDI, or MusicXML file.
Users can then alter their score and listen to their work using a palette full of articulations, expressions, and dynamics, in addition to adjusting the overall mix via a multi-track mixer equipped with distortion and reverb effects. Once a project is finished, the work can then be shared as a Notion, MIDI, MusicXML, or PDF file, or exported as an audio file for listening.
