Novation have announced the release of the Launchkey 88, the latest addition to their family of Launchkey MIDI keyboard controllers. The company’s first 88-key controller comes equipped with a semi-weighted keybed, nine faders and 16 velocity-sensitive pads. The back panel keeps things nice and simple, with MIDI connectivity available via USB and a single DIN socket, and a quarter-inch jack socket accepting a sustain pedal.
Other key features include a built-in arpeggiator, a ‘Scale’ mode to ensure players always stay in key, and a ‘Chord’ mode that can trigger complex chords from single notes. As with the other controllers in the range, the Launchkey 88 offers deep integration with Ableton Live, Logic Pro and Cubase software. Control of other DAWs such as Studio One, Pro Tools and Reaper is provided via the HUI protocol. The controller also comes with a software bundle that includes Ableton Live 11 Lite, along with a selection of virtual instruments, plug-ins and sample packs.
The Launchkey 88 is available now, priced at $399.99£379.99 including VAT.
