Roland have announced the release of the Drum Machine Collection, a bundle of five software recreations of their most revered hardware rhythm machines. Utilising Roland's Analog Circuit Behavior (ACB) technology, the collection includes plug-in versions of the company's TR-808, TR-606, TR-909, TR-707, and TR-727 devices, all of which have been enhanced with a range of new sound-shaping options and advanced sequencing capabilities.
Each of the plug-ins faithfully recreate the sound and behaviour of the original devices, and include all of the original factory patches as well as a collection of new sounds designed with contemporary music production in mind. Advanced sequencing capabilities have been introduced to allow the creation of intricate grooves and complex patterns, and the instruments offer increased versatility when compared to the original units thanks to extended parameters and on-board effects.
The Drum Machine Collection also integrates with Roland’s TR-8S Rhythm Performer hardware instrument. Software parameters can be adjusted in real time using the knobs and sliders on the TR-8S, and patterns cab be instantly sent back and forth between the hardware and plug-ins.
