Samplicity’s Number Seven plug-in brings the sound of Bricasti’s renowned M7 hardware reverb inside the box, delivering a collection of carefully crafted presets along with a versatile onboard EQ and side-chain dynamics processors. Now, with the launch of Number Seven Professional, that same functionality is being extended to those working with Dolby Atmos mixes.
All of the key features of the original plug-in remain, with 136 accurately recreated M7 presets complemented by dual modulation capabilities that allow early reflections and reverb tails to be processed independently. There’s a five-band EQ based around minimum-phase filters, along with side-chain compression and gate processes each equipped with a comprehensive set of parameters and capable of being driven by either the plug-in’s dry or wet signal.
However, while the existing version can be used on mono or stereo signals, Professional is capable of tackling multi-channel immersive layouts all the way up to 9.1.6. The GUI provides dedicated input and output sections for all channels, with each of the 16 inputs equipped with crossfeed controls that allow their signal to be ‘spilt’ into other channels — there’s also dedicated spill handling to and from the centre channel. All of the output channels are then equipped with a Mid-Side width control, and allow modulation and de-correlation to be engaged on a per-channel basis.
For those already using the original stereo version, Number Seven Professional plug-in is fully compatible with existing presets.
Compatibility
Number Seven Professional is supported on PCs running Windows 7 and above, and Macs running macOS 10.13 or higher. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available. Authorisation is carried out via PACE’s iLok system, and does require a physical USB dongle (iLok 2 and 3 versions are supported).
