Bass synth features wavetable & sample-based engines

In celebration of this year’s 808 Day, AIR Music Technology have announced the launch of AIR Sub Factory, a new software synthesizer designed specifically for creating deep and powerful bass sounds.

The instrument features a pair of wavetable engines that each come loaded with everything from classic analogue sounds to modern, edgy digital tones and hybrid offerings, and each wave has 127 index points that provide users with extensive customisation capabilities. A third, sample-based engine then extends Sub Factory’s palette with an array of kick drums, 808 loops, noise and effects, and offers a selection of tools including adjustable sample start times, delay, reverse, pitch and filter adjustments.

There’s a comprehensive selection of filters and pitch controls as well as amp and filter envelopes, and an intuitive modulation section with a generous selection of target options makes it simple to introduce some movement to the instrument’s sounds. As you’d expect from AIR, a whole host of onboard effects are present, including Unison, Spread and Width processors, alongside Ring Mod, Chorus, Drive and EQ modules. As well as providing keen sound designers with a platform for creating their own patches, the instrument also comes kitted out with a variety of presets designed to inspire users and spark new ideas.

Compatibility

AIR Sub Factory is supported on Windows and macOS systems, and is available in VST, VST3, AU and AAX plug-in formats. It is also available on the following Akai Pro MPC Standalone devices: One, One+, Live, Live II, X, Key 61 and Key 37.
