Spitfire Audio have announced a new partnership with DAACI, a company who specialise in developing assistive AI tools for music creators. The first collaboration between the two companies makes a collection of Spitfire’s samples available in DAACI’s Natural Drums, a plug‑in that generates bespoke drum patterns.
Part of DAACI’s Natural Series, Natural Drums follows the company’s approach to assistive AI and doesn’t pull from a list of precomposed patterns or utilise complete randomness. According to the company, it behaves in the same way as a real musician and is capable of quickly generating custom patterns based on a user’s initial input.
The process can be influenced by a selection of preset styles, while a Shuffle Every Loop function varies the pattern with each repeat, and a number of other controls make it possible to introduce various embellishments and fills. Once users are happy with their pattern, it can be exported either as MIDI for further adjustment in a DAW, or as a rendered audio file.
Compatibility
Natural Drums is supported on Macs running macOS 10.15 and above and on PCs running Windows 10 or higher.
