In response to significant user demand, Accentize have announced that Chameleon, their popular reverb-matching tool, is now available to those working in multi-channel surround and immersive formats.
The original version has become a go-to plug-in for many audio professionals, with its ability to analyse and recreate room characteristics making it a valuable tool to those working in film, TV and video game production. Until now, though, it has been limited to stereo operation, something which the company have addressed with the launch of Chameleon Surround.
The new version of the plug-in builds on the acclaimed technology behind the original, enhancing it for use on immersive 3D audio sources. An expanded selection of reverbs including halls, small spaces and even car interiors are provided, allowing users to carry out everything from enhancing ADR dialogue to crafting realistic-sounding foley or creating detailed soundscapes for video games and virtual reality platforms. It’s also compatible with existing Chameleon profiles, meaning that users can load up their stereo projects and expand them to surround or immersive channel layouts.
