Trevor Horn: The Art Of Record Production

In this feature video, Trevor Horn talks about the art of record production then and now.

From ABC to Yes via Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Trevor Horn produced some of the most iconic records of the 1980s. Thirty years on, he’s revisited and reimagined his favourite songs from the decade with a host of celebrity guests. He recalls how he developed the idea of the studio as an instrument, and how he worked with engineers such as Gary Langan and Stephen Lipson to create the sounds that defined an era.

Among the songs Trevor has reinvented with orchestral arrangements on his new album is 'Owner Of A Lonely Heart' by Yes, one of his best-known and most innovative ’80s productions. In a special bonus feature, he takes us through the multitracks of the original and the remake, explaining how this studio masterpiece was assembled and reworked.
