MAGIX Software GmbH, the developer behind audio software ranges including Samplitude, Sound Forge and Sequoia Pro, have been taken over by Russmedia Equity Partners (RMEP). The acquisition, which was completed earlier in 2025, marks the end of the company’s insolvency, and sees them successfully restructured with a new management team appointed.
RMEP, a European investor in digital companies, has taken over the management of the Berlin-based software developers, with Robert Rutkowski appointed as CEO — Rutkowski is already responsible for the commercial success of Erento GmbH, another Russmedia Group company that boasts the largest rental portal in Europe. With the new management team in place, MAGIX say that they are striving to consolidate and expand their position on the international market, and will continue to develop their range of professional software solutions in the fields of video editing and music production.
"This market is experiencing robust growth, driven by the demand for high-quality digital content and user-friendly software solutions across all industries. As one of the leading providers of creative software with a broad product range, MAGIX fits perfectly into our portfolio of successful brand names in the digital sector.” - Spokesperson from Russmedia Equity Partners
