Casio have announced the launch of their second Casio Sessions competition, which is open to piano-playing singer-songwriters based in the UK.
Following on from a successful first year, the company are once again encouraging artists from all around the UK to enter online by submitting a video of themselves playing and singing an original composition — covers will not be considered. Twelve entrants will then be chosen to compete in a live final at the stylish Ninety One Living Room jazz bar in Brick Lane, London, on Wednesday 4 September 2024.

The finalists will perform in front of a live audience and panel of judges, who will assess their performances on criteria such as stage presence and writing, singing and playing ability. The winner will then take home one of Casio’s multiple award-winning PX-S7000 pianos, the flagship model from their premium Privia series that boasts a newly developed hybrid wooden hammer keyboard and sports a bold, contemporary look. Additionally, they will also be awarded with an exclusive mastering studio session for their winning song, which will then be pressed to a limited run of vinyl records, courtesy of competition partner and physical music manufacturer Breed Media.

Entries to Casio Sessions 2024 are open now until midnight on 6 August 2024. Entrants must all be based in the UK, and are required to submit an original video audition and complete a simple form via the Casio website to be considered for the live final.
