Darkglass Electronics announce the Anagram

New all-in-one bass amp & effects system

Darkglass Electronics Anagram

Helsinki-based amp and effects experts Darkglass Electronics have announced the launch of a new all-in-one system that promises to provide bass players with unparalleled sound-shaping capabilities. The Anagram packs in an array of amp and cabinet simulations along with a comprehensive collection of effects, and offers a choice of three control modes.

Housed in a compact aluminium chassis, the Anagram is controlled using a combination of a high-resolution touch display, six rotary encoders and a trio of footswitches. It uses a block-based architecture that allows users to create signal chains in series (12 blocks) or parallel (24 blocks), while three control modes (Preset, Scene and Stomp) allow users to instantly switch between different configurations, or use the Anagram  in the same way they would a traditional pedalboard.

DSP Library

Here’s a breakdown of the Anagram’s built-in processors and effects:

  • Amps and Cabs: Explore a curated selection of classic and modern bass amps alongside bass and guitar cabinet simulations.
  • Overdrive & Distortion: Access Darkglass’s renowned drive circuits and authentic distortion captures.
  • EQ, Filters & Dynamics: Sculpt your sound with equalisers, envelope filters, compressors and noise gates.
  • Modulation & Pitch: Add movement with flangers and choruses, and explore tonal heights with octavers and pitch-shifters.
  • Delays & Reverbs: Add depth with digital or analogue delay effects, or choose from our selection of reverbs.
  • Utilities & Loaders: Manage your routing and signal flow with handy utilities and system blocks.

Cabinet IRs and neural models can be managed via the company’s Darkglass Suite software editor, which can also be used to create, edit and share presets.

Connectivity

Around on the rear panel you’ll find an instrument input on a quarter-inch TS socket, with a pair of quarter-inch TRS connectors providing support for a mono or stereo effects loop. Stereo outputs are provided on both XLR and quarter-inch TRS, while a trio of 3.5mm TRS sockets offer a headphone output and MIDI I/O. 9–12V DC power is accepted via a standard 2.1mm socket, and the Anagram can also be powered via its USB-C port by any power supply that supports USB Power Delivery (PD).

" Anagram represents the culmination of years of research and development. We set out to create a product that not only pushes the boundaries of bass tone, but also inspires musicians to explore new sonic territories." - Marcos Barilatti, Managing Director of Darkglass Electronics
