JZ Microphones, the Latvian pro audio manufacturers, are known for their unusual Black Hole mic (http://sosm.ag/dec08-jz-blackhole) as well as affordable high-quality condenser mics like the Vintage 11 (http://sosm.ag/jan12-jz-vintage11). They are now expanding their product range with their first ever channel strip, dubbed the JZ Track, which is made in Germany by SPL.
The JZ Track is a 1U mono rackmount preamp with a de-esser, compressor/limiter, a three-band EQ and an output stage with metering. Ideal for recording vocals or instruments, the JZ Track can also be linked with a second JZ Track for stereo operation of the compressors. In addition, JZ Microphones will offer an optional A-D card with output for both ADAT and S/PDIF.
SPL have based the design on their own Track One channel strip (http://sosm.ag/apr02-spl-trackone) but with some cosmetic and internal refinements intended to complement JZ’s range of mics.
The JZ Track should be shipping from February 1, 2014 and will cost $999.
