Scene: Lotus from Native Instruments

Japanese-inspired composition tool joins Komplete line-up

Native Instruments Scene:Lotus Japanese-inspired sample library virtual instrument

The latest addition to Native Instruments’ Scene series has just arrived, delivering a range of Japanese-inspired soundscapes designed for cinematic compositions. Scene: Lotus captures a range of instruments including the shakuhachi, hichiriki and koto, and blends them with a selection of orchestral swells and synth sounds.

Being a part of the Scene series, the latest offering features a simple, streamlined GUI, with its main view occupied by a large X-Y pad and a set of macro controls. Its dual-layer design allows users to load a pair of sound sources, and seamlessly blend between them and manipulate a range of their parameters using the X-Y pad. There are 16 sound sources included that range in character from serene to intense, along with a collection of built-in reverb, delay and modulation effects that can be controlled dynamically from the main page.

Compatibility

Scene: Lotus runs in Native Instruments’ free Kontakt Player (or the full version of Kontakt) versions 8.1 or higher, which are supported on PCs running Windows 10 or above, and Macs running macOS 13 and higher. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available, along with a standalone application.

Pricing & Availability

Scene: Lotus is available now, priced at $29.
