Schwabe Digital announce Orange Clip 3

FL-inspired clipper gains multiband capabilities

Schwabe Digital Orange Clip FL Studio clipper limiter plug-in

Schwabe Digital’s Orange Clip was designed to make the sound of FL Studio’s hugely popular stock clipper plug-in available outside of its home environment, providing users of other DAWs with the sound that has shaped countless modern productions. The latest version has just been announced, and introduces multiband processing along with a whole host of behind-the-scenes improvements.

The company say that they’ve completely re-engineered the plug-in, implementing a new multiband processing engine along with advanced oversampling and new parallel processing capabilities. As a result, it now offers precise per-band control with variable knee settings, independent bypassing, dry/wet signal blending and momentary soloing; the plug-in also boasts linkable I/O trims, ceiling adjustments and a true-parallel output mixer. Many of the features have been made possible thanks to Schwabe Digital’s new linear-phase filterbank design, which they say is the most efficient and clean-sounding example they’ve encountered, and helps to ensure transparent multiband separation without introducing any phase issues.

Compatibility

Orange Clip 3 is supported on PCs running Windows 10 and above, and Macs running macOS 10.13 or higher. VST3, AU and AAX plug-in versions are available.
