Get some green on your walls!
Early in 2008, acoustic treatment specialists Auralex announced that their Studio Foam range was to be made from renewable soy-based materials, rather than petrochemicals, a move that the company said would “help reduce global warming emissions, yet retain the longevity and acoustical properties” of the product.
Now, with the launch of their Eco-Tech acoustic panels, they’ve gone one step further, and introduced acoustic treatment “manufactured with a proprietary formulation of 100 percent recycled polyester fibres”, employing methods that use no Chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs). They even print their manuals and marketing paraphernalia on recycled paper and use recycled shipping materials!
Importantly, the new panels “meet and exceed” the criteria for both acoustical performance and fire resistance, and apparently cost no more to customer or dealers.
Another new initiative by Auralex is Sonic Print, a service that combines Auralex’s products with apparently “unlimited” design options. Traditionally, acoustic treatment has been aesthetically boring to look at. But, with Sonic Print, Auralex are giving their customers the chance to inject a little style to their studio.
Visit the Sonic Print page of Auralex’s web site, and you can browse hundreds of patterns and styles, which can be used to cover any of the company’s Elite Pro Panels, as well as custom-designed panels. You can even upload your own pictures, so you could wrap your broadband absorber with a family photo, or your favourite holiday snap. What's more, Auralex have signed an agreement with greetings card giant Hallmark, allowing pictures from their six-million-image library to be used!
