The latest addition to Austrian Audio’s headphone range has arrived, promising to deliver detailed, high-precision sound in a compact and affordable package. The closed back Hi-X20 employ the same proprietary drivers used in the rest of the Hi-X (High Excursion) range, and are said to provide users with the ultimate day-to-day workhorse for recording, mixing and recreational listening.
The headphones have been developed in response to user feedback, a move which Austrian Audio say has resulted in a fresh take on their signature sound, offering an ‘honest’ frequency response with fast transients and minimal low-end distortion. As for construction, the Hi-X20 features a folding design that uses a metal headband and hinges, with memory foam earcups ensuring a comfortable fit over long listening sessions.
