London International Music Show, June 12-15, 2008
Digidesign, M-Audio and Sibelius are to join forces at the SRT Show (part of the London International Music Show in ExCel) this June, showcasing their range of world-class music technology.
Visitors to the stand (E16) will experience award-winning hardware and software covering every aspect of the creative process.
It is the first time that the three companies – all part of Avid Technology – have joined forces at a major European exhibition. To celebrate, show visitors will be in with a chance of winning several integrated studio setups that bring together products from the three companies.
On Saturday the 14th June, visitors to the stand will be in with a chance of winning a complete studio setup. This includes a Digidesign Mbox 2 Factory audio/MIDI production system (includes Mbox 2 interface, Pro Tools LE software, premium Factory plug-in bundle with an iLok USB Smart Key, Pro Tools Ignition Pack 2, Xpand, and 45 professional processing plug-ins), and M-Audio Nova microphone, an M-Audio Axiom 25 MIDI keyboard controller, M-Audio Studiophile AV 40 monitors, Digidesign Structure LE advanced sample player plug-in and Velvet vintage electric pianos plug-in, Sibelius 5, PhotoScore Ultimate and AudioScore with World Music, Choral and Rock & Pop sound libraries and all required cables.
On each of the other days, visitors (including trade representatives) will have the chance of winning an M-Audio Songwriter Kit, comprising Pro Tools M-Powered 7.4, ProKeys Sono 61 digital piano with built-in audio interface, Studiophile AV 40 monitors MicroTrack II digital recorder, Studiophile Q40 headphones and a Luna microphone.
There will also be a wealth of new products unveiled on the stand:
Digidesign will be demonstrating the latest Pro Tools 7.4 software with its incredibly flexible elastic time functionality. With Pro Tools HD and Pro Tools LE systems on display, visitors will be able to see why Digidesign is the industry leader in digital audio production and experience the range of associated products from Digidesign, including Virtual Instruments, Control Surfaces and the new Reference Monitor Series. Digidesign will also be previewing Transfuser (click here for the SOS news item), a new upcoming RTAS virtual instrument plug-in for Pro Tools software. Transfuser is a real-time loop, phrase, and groove creation virtual instrument designed for quickly and easily creating, manipulating, and performing loop- and rhythm-based music on the fly within Pro Tools. It also offers users a quick and easy way to modify existing loop libraries to breathe new life into their creations.
M-Audio will unveil two brand new products at the London International Music Show 2008: the ProKeys Sono digital pianos, and the Fast Track Ultra 8R USB 2.0 audio interface – both being shown for the first time in the UK. Designed to bridge the gap between writing, performing and recording, the 61 and 88 note ProKeys Sono portable digital pianos include velocity-sensitive keys, built-in usb audio interface and on-board General MIDI sound set – ideal for songwriting, live performance, education or simply as the hub of your recording setup.
The Fast Track Ultra 8R meanwhile is the latest audio/MIDI interface, comprising 8 x 8 I/O, high-speed USB 2.0 connectivity, MX Core DSP mixing/effects and eight preamps with award-winning Octane technology. Great for recording drum kits and full bands on all eight inputs simultaneously – with 24-bit/96kHz fidelity.
A host of other new products can also be seen on the stand, including: the BX5a Deluxe & BX8a Deluxe reference speakers with massively improved waveguides and enhanced driver integration for extended low-frequency response and refined sound; the ProFire 2626 firewire interface with 26 simultaneous I/O and award-winning Octane pre-amp technology; the Microtrack II portable digital recorder; the 24-bit/96kHz Fast Track Ultra USB 2.0 interface; Studiophile Q40 headphones; IE-40 professional reference earphones with Triple Driver Technology; the Pulsar II pencil style condenser mics; iZotope RX Advanced Audio Restoration software; Pro Tools M-Powered (Pro Tools for M-Audio only interfaces); along with a host of new software synth titles such as GForce's Virtual String Machine and Way out Ware's KikAxxe. Stand entertainment will be provided by DJ and M-Audio demonstrator J-Me, who'll be performing throughout the four days on Torq Xponent, M-Audio's DJ controller/software system.
Sibelius will be demonstrating Sibelius 5.2, the latest version of the world’s best-selling music notation software. As well as complete support for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and Windows Vista, Sibelius 5.2 features the Ideas Hub – a revolutionary way for composers and arrangers to capture and reuse their flashes of inspiration – all-new built-in sounds and support for VST / Audio Units virtual instruments, and Panorama view for uninterrupted composing and creativity.
