Rhodes Music have announced the upcoming launch of a new compact, passive 61-key tine piano that promises to capture the signature feel and sound of a Rhodes but in a more portable, gig-ready design. Built for touring musicians, yet equally suited for studio environments, the Stage 61 will be available for pre-order on 25 March, and will be released alongside a special Launch Edition model that’s limited to 61 units worldwide.
The Stage 61 aims to simplify the Rhodes experience, boasting a stripped-down, classic design that’s been inspired by the original Rhodes pianos of the 60s, 70s, and early 80s. The company say that the instrument’s focus is on playability and portability, and that it will offer musicians a pure, unprocessed Rhodes sound in a format that stays true to its roots while catering to the needs of contemporary players.

Launch Edition
To mark the launch of the Stage 61, Rhodes will also be releasing a limited Launch Edition, with just 61 units available worldwide. Axel Hartmann — the creator behind the MK8’s exterior, renowned for his decades of experience in designing musical instruments — has taken the lead on the design, which features a khaki-green ABS hood with a premium wear-resistant vinyl finish, a black front panel with orange accents and exclusive design details.
Pricing & Availability
The Stage 61 will be available to order on 25 March 2025 exclusively through the Rhodes website. Customers may place a 20 percent deposit or pay in full. Those who pay in full will receive a complimentary stand (valued at $500). The product page will remain password-protected until pre-orders begin. Orders are expected to ship approximately six months after purchase. Prices are as follows:
