Two notes Audio Engineering have announced the upcoming launch of the Torpedo Reload II, the latest addition to their range of reactive load boxes. Featuring twin-channel operation, selectable multi-impedance compatibility and true continuous attenuation, the unit is said to be the company’s most advanced load box to date, and promises to unleash the power of any amplifier or line-level source without compromise.
The unit boasts a two-channel design that’s capable of delivering up to 215W of power per channel while preserving the tone and character of the connected amp; Two notes say that thanks to a redesign of their loading circuitry, the Reload II will allow any amp’s power stage to be driven perfectly — its speaker input is rated up to 200W RMS. It’s not solely designed to tame loud amps, though, and will happily accept line-level sources, meaning it can be used alongside a range of modelling/simulation rigs. Input sources can be selected independently for each channel, while switchable 4, 8 and 16 Ω operating modes ensures compatibility with a huge range of amps.
Front-panel controls are provided for the amp input level, cabinet volume, source selection and the XLR line output level, along with dedicated per-channel Depth and Presence dials. Both channels are also equipped with a Mojo switch, which has been designed to provide a ‘high-power’ feel at lower playing volumes. Around on the rear panel you’ll find an amp input and a pair of cabinet outputs on quarter-inch TS sockets, along with balanced line-level outputs for each channel on both quarter-inch TRS and XLR sockets. The unit also boasts a footswitchable stereo effects loop that features series and parallel routing modes, along with dry/wet mix controls on the returns and dual-mono/A-B link modes, providing users with a versatile way to incorporate stereo effects into their setup and experiment with different routing configurations.

The Torpedo Reload II can be used freestanding, or as a 2U rackmount unit when fitted with the included rack ears. As you might imagine, it integrates with Two notes’ Genome software, and includes a license for Genome Reload II Edition, as well as 24 premium DynIR virtual cabinets from Celestion and Two notes.
“When it came to developing Reload II, it was obvious this couldn’t be a run-of-the-mill update of its predecessor. Fuelled by an ethos rooted in continual redefinition of contemporary backline control, we set our sights on a ground-up rework of our defining reactive load box. The results speak for themselves: hands-down the best-in-class impedance match available on the market to date, and the first reactive load box to feature an industry-first Celestion-Approved Load Response. Whether it’s a tube amp, a line-level source or even both simultaneously, all the hookup flexibility you demand from a Two notes product is here. Throw a 215W (per cab output) power amplifier into the mix, and you’re primed with everything from studio-friendly silent load box operation to main stage-ready source amplification. If that wasn’t enough, there’s a suite of expertly-tuned tone-shaping tools, a download for Genome Reload II Edition included, plus a super-versatile stereo/dual-mono FX loop that all combine to make Reload II our most adaptable solution to date. The next generation of our reactive load legacy has arrived. It’s now up to you to reimagine your backline with everything the Two notes ecosystem has to offer!”- Guillaume Pille, CEO, Two notes Audio Engineering
