Yorkville have announced the launch of two new additions to their NX Series of portable PA speakers. The NX8P and NX12P are both active models that boast advanced DSP and built-in limiting, and feature an onboard three-channel mixer that allows them to function as an all-in-one system for smaller events.
Both models share a similar design, and feature an angled cabinet that allows them to be used as front-of-house speakers (freestanding, pole-mounted or flown), or placed on their side and assigned to monitoring duties. As their names suggest, the NX8P and NX12P are equipped with eight- and 12-inch low-frequency drivers respectively, with both utilising a one-inch high-frequency compression driver.
Both the NX8P and NX12P feature a built-in three-channel mixer.Along with their main XLR input and output connections, both units feature a built-in three-channel mixer. The first two channels are mono, and accept mix or line-level signals via XLR/TRS combo sockets, as well as offering phantom power, switchable mic/line operating levels and a switchable 90Hz high-pass filter. The third channel then accepts stereo signals either via a 3.5mm mini-jack, or wirelessly via Bluetooth.
Their master section benefits from an onboard limiter and a 100Hz high-pass filter that can be engaged when combining the speakers with a sub. There’s also a Mode switch that offers three DSP-powered voicing options: Live, Club and Mon (monitor).
