The latest addition to VSL’s extensive sample library collection kits out the Synchron Series with a selection of additional woodwind content. Synchron Special Woodwinds includes a rare line-up of six instruments, and benefits from the company’s new Flow View GUI option.
Everything included in the library has been captured in Stage a of VSL’s Vienna Synchron Stage venue, so will sit perfectly alongside the existing collection of instruments. The six additional instruments — Bass Flute, Contrabass Flute, Oboe d'Amore, Bass Oboe, Eb Clarinet and Bass Clarinet — promise to deliver unparalleled realism, and are said to be the perfect choice for composers looking to bring depth, artistic expression and unique timbres to their work. As with all Synchron offerings, Special Woodwinds can be purchased in Standard and Full variants, with the latter offering a greater choice of microphone positions.
The library also includes Flow View, an optional stripped-back GUI layout that has been designed to help users focus on their playing, and employs algorithms to automatically take care of articulation switching and parameter control. Alongside the launch, VSL have also released a free update that adds Flow View to the existing Synchron Woodwinds collection.
Compatibility
Synchron Special Woodwinds runs in VSL’s Synchron Player, which is supported on PCs running Windows 10 and above, and Macs running macOS 11 and higher.
